A synthetic broad-spectrum antibacterial agent containing
levofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone active against a wide range of gram-positive
and Gram-negative bacteria including anaerobes and atypical pathogens like
Chlamydia pneumoniae and Mycoplasma pneumoniae. It is indicated for acute
maxillary sinusitis, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis,
community-acquired pneumonia (including penicillin-resistant Streptococcus
pneumoniae strains), complicated skin and skin structure infections,
complicated urinary tract infections, including acute pyelonephritis. The film
coated Cravit tablets
contain 250 mg or 500 mg levofloxacin. Cravit solution comes in bottle sizes of 100ml & 150ml for I.V. injection containing 500mg & 750mg levofloxacin respectively. The usual
dosage of Cravit Tablets
/ Injection is 250-500 mg once daily administered orally or by slow IV
infusion.
